Thoughts on 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Hi All,

I am looking at a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee as the family car. Need something fairly big and robust for hoofing the 3 teenage kids to various sports and some longer trips, mostly road use but the odd off road use. Due to my wife's job she needs a car that will get her to work no matter what the weather is doing.

They look nice and seem fairly capable cars. We have had an older Jeep Cherokee for the last 3 years and it has been faultless to be fair. The wife really likes Jeeps so that has been a factor as well.

This would be purchased from an independent dealer so no warranty which worries me a bit (the aftermarket they are offering looks crap!) the car has 40k miles on it, looks in really condition and is a decent price so am hoping we will be OK. Only concern this is the most I have spend on a second car and it is a lot of money to have tied up in a car with no dealer/manufacturers warranty.

So any thoughts or owners reviews greatly appreciated! Should I be looking at something else?? Am I being daft to be concerned?

Don't know much about them but like look and am considering one for our family car too.

A mate has the older (2006) version and does lots of towing and family duties and swears by it
