Was thinking about buying her a track day in a Lambo or something for Christmas.

Anyone here know any decent outfits who provide this service? Or is it a matter of the Groupon stuff being the usual guff?

Cheers

The closest is http://www.everymanracing.co.uk/super-car-driving-... which is held at Prestwold Hall near Loughborough. Like any experience they don't let you go nuts but they do give you a fun experience......

I've been here - did the Caterham experience, which was more fun than the supercar experience as the instructors were a little more flexible with how fast you went. However, it looked to be a properly organised and you did get a fair bit of 'car' time.

Keep us informed. I watched from the sidelines and they drove the Ferraris harder on the road outside than they let the punters drive them on the track.

Looked like a 5-6k rev limit.

Another vote for Everyman Racing at Prestwold Hall.

I've been twice - each time the instructors were keen for you to get the best out of the cars and it was a great afternoon.

Been on a couple of Everyman days, your experience very much depends on a) how busy the day is and b) the mood of your instructor.

One of the guys is a bit older and is quite happy for you to get 80-90% out of the car, gave me some really good instructions on how to make myself quicker and I noticed an improvement even over the meagre 3 laps.

Some of the younger ones can be on a bit of a power trip and assume no one can handle anything over 5000rpm.

The one complaint I had was some little turd left the engine running in a gallardo, the previous occupant was a small lady who had wound the seat forward, rather than turn off the engine or let me move the seat back he had bundled me into the car and had a bhfit when I caught the accelerator.

Would still recommend them though, good way to waste an afternoon.
