Options for more noise (induction/exhaust) - CLS63 AMG

I recently purchased a 2006 CLS63 AMG. The engine note is utterly wonderful, but I'd love it to be a bit louder. There was a thread earlier today by a chap who had a CLS but it mainly revolved around the exhaust. I'm more interested in intake / induction / engine noise than exhaust note, though having said that, I could potentially be persuaded by something relatively subtle in the 'zorst department as well.

So - does anyone have any tips about increasing intake / induction noise on the CLS (or similarly engined (NA 6.2L V8 Mercs)? Or high-class exhaust mods?

Exhaust will be the way forward. In many Mercs and BMWs they have so much sound deadening around the engine area (or between the cabin and the engine bay) that even if you put in open air cone filters with alu hard pipes, you will struggle to hear any difference inside the car.

Hmmmm. Anyone else tried anything else under the bonnet (as opposed to under the car)?
