Hi guys, bit of a long story, but my daily hack '08 Accord was damaged by the nice people at NCP a while back. After a long an protracted arguement, they agreed to pay for a new bumper, but not my O/S headlight (which was misting up so must have been cracked) as there was no evidence the damage was related to the incident in which their airport driver scratched my bumper.

Anyway, I bought a headlamp from a big ebay seller who has loads of feedback and sells loads of Honda parts. It was advertised on ebay UK. I asked the guy if it was new and genuine Honda and was told "yes" to both. I gave him the registration of my car in the process, which is a UK registration.

Anyway, I had a bodyshop fit a new bumper and the headlamp yesterday (they wanted around 3 times the cost of the ebay one to supply) and the job is great. Then I drove it in the dark tonight, and as i got home, I noticed against the garage, that the "flick" of the drivers side lamp seems to me at least to be in the wrong direction:-

So, do I need a whoosh parrot? Or have I been supplied a headlamp for a LHD car? hehe

If I'm not being stupid, then is there anything other than changing the unit over to a UK spec one that will solve this?

To top it off, I think this is an MOT failure and mine is due late January so I need to fix this sharpish!

Merry christmas one and all

Hmm, it doe look wrong based on your picture.

I don't know specifically about Hondas, but many years ago I had a car where the headlamp bulb could swivel and make it either left or right hand. Perhaps have a close look. Do you still have the old one to compare?

First thing is to make absolutely sure the bulb is correctly fitted. I've been amazed at the number of times I've bought a car and it's had a weird beam pattern only to find the H7 bulb isn't clipped in place properly (or at all in one case!)

Thanks chaps. Will check on the bulb tomorrow! I do have the old one to compare in the daylight.

I am correct in saying that the 'flicks' need to both point towards the NS to illuminate the verge? Right?

This is thje MoT requirement:

Strictly speaking I think the rule says the flick must not be on the right. You don't have to have one at all.

The drivers side is incorrect. Unlikely the bulb. Is there a lever on the back to switch LH/RH? Should
mention it in the handbook if there is.

If you can't adjust it, tape it up for the MOT.

The part number should indicate whether it is an RHD or LHD item, if there is no adjustment.

It certainly looks like an LHD beam pattern.

Its definitely a LHD beam pattern, as above check for a switch.
