What Car? MK1 MX5 or Z4?

Sorry another what car thread.

I have been nosey on this site for a long time but now need some help.

I am looking to buy a new car and currently have it narrowed down to two cars, the MK1 MX5 and BMW Z4.

I know virtually everyone here raves about the mx5 but does anyone have any experience of owning both of these and able to directly compare them?

I have an MX5 Mk1 and keep thinking I might like a Z4 because I really want a more charismatic engine - you can't beat a straight 6. Bit of a chalk/cheese comparison though, no?

You can have my ratty but reliable MX5 for sod all to try it out if you want
