DS3 Write Off's
Discussion
My wife's friend Turned up in a newish DS3 yesterday and had my Wife saying how lovely her car was. So being the great guy that I am, thought I would check them out as she needs her car replacing. Wow, is all I can say. After searching them on Autotrader I can't believe how many of them are cat C or D write off repaired and can honestly say I've never come across that before.
So the question is why? Expensive to repair costs, inherent design fault (making them difficult to keep on the road), typical boy racer car, why?? Wouldn't be happy getting a cheap one due to it being written off but, have no experience of them so couldn't comment.

Not really a boy racer car to be honest, too new and expensive for that!
Not taking into account Citroen do some great finance packages with free insurance for young driver's, it opens up a great big market for them and the car's are affordable to a lot younger age group...so yes boy racers.rigga said:

I think the term boy racer is more attitude defined rather than velocity reached.

True, but the last Citroen I saw with a boy racer at the wheel was a C2. As above, I've never seen a bloke < 20 (generously I'd say 25) driving a DS3 that wasn't in a shirt/tie.I think the term boy racer is more attitude defined rather than velocity reached.

Primarily ditzy female-owned cars. Every one I see has the pink roof and wing mirror option.
I'd agree with that tbh. The type that dont realise when they've jumped a light, or start drifting into your lane on a roundabout completely unawareThe westcoast was the mk1 1.4 saxo and the furio was the 1.4 mk2 saxo, Defo wwasn't a 1.1
I think all the models came with the free insurance too?

nope, westcoast came first. that colour is mango and both mk1 and 2's came in it, as well as silver and posi blue iirc
You see to know your Saxos. Is it true that yellow VTR's were limited to only 150 models? I heard that years ago as when I started working for the company I now work for, all the young lads drove Saxos and waxed lyrical about them.
