Sorry, not the most exciting of posts but I'm after any opinions / experience as I'm looking at a car change. I have to accomodate one full front facing child seat and two booster seats in the rear seats of a car for the next 2 / 3 years. I've been through a few cars up to now, a range rover, a ford s-max and a merc GL, all of which have dealt with this, but I was keen to get into a more normal estate car as the 4x4 just feel bulky around town and burn the fuel. I dont want an MPV and the only 4x4 I would swap the GL for is a new range rover (I'll deal with the fuel on that !), but they're too expensive at the moment.

I've had a skoda octavia on test drive this week, the VRS estate, which I like but it's just not big enough. I'm thinking merc e class, possibly A6.

Any ideas ? (I know someone will say but a caterham and 4 bus passes, but I do need one decent family car)

Volkswagen CC? Maybe your budget would go further than one if these. Perfectly good car though.

308 GT/4 or a California will do the job.....

Just realised you want 3 seats in the back. They will not do that.

I'm surprised you can't fit them in an Octavia. I'd have thought with the full seat in the centre and a booster on each side, they'd go. Alternatively you can get double boosters which take up less space than two single ones, and put the full seat on one side.

You have children and I would have thought that the best tool for that particular job is the S-Max, you could always try a Mondeo estate.

Assuming you want ISOFIX, pretty much anything will fit your bill.

During the years our son needed a booster seat, we had a Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon, Audi S4 Avant, BMW 3 & 5 series Tourings, Porsche Boxster (non ISOFIX, but Porsche had their own system).

Is the limitation that you are struggling to find an estate you like that fits three kids in the back (with boosters plus child seat)?

Bit confused on the ask...as I'd think most estate cars should do this...

So this may or may not be a useful reply - but one solution if you are finding cars that are suitable in all regards except the fitting of the three kids would be a three child seat set ie

Works for kids up to 12 I think .
