Now then folks. Happy new year one and all.

Following the festive period, I have some left over cash given to me by those that cannot be more inventive than give cash (thanks mum hehe)

I spent a chunk on a fancy new keyboard and mouse, but am sat with the remaining £80 and wondering what does one buy?

Given it won't buy me enough coke and hookers, I've decided to blow it on something petrol head/ car related. As quite frankly I have a lot of everything else!

Car wise, I'm good for:

Skid lid
Socket sets, screw drivers, hammers and all that other tool garb.
Tool box (have a huge halfords ball bearing jobbie)
Parts: my daily doesn't break (honda) and the mx5 is sat with a set of coilovers and a strut brace waiting to be fitted.

So, over to you 'orrible lot. What would you spend it on? Anything goes.

1/18 scale Model car?

You can get a very nice Kyosho model of 'your' E61 5 Series (or something else) and have change to spare?

I'm 31 years old, with a wife, mortgage and 2 year old. I'm no powerfully built director but I earn good money and I run my life on an economical budget so I have plenty of saving plans thanks. £80 won't make a dent in my current savings. My job got put on shaky ground around a year ago so between wifey and I we put 12-18 months wages in the kitty to be safe. Then I moved jobs before they downsized.

When somebody gives me money in lieu of a gift and tells me specifically to spend it on what I want, I do just that.

As an aside, is this what this place is coming to these days? Why is there already some presumptuous idiot who jumps in and says something stupid and/ or tries to criticise the OP??

When I said driving shoes, in my mind I meant racing style shoes for track days and karting etc. I notice someone else post a nice pair of slip-ons. hehe

Are there 2 types of driving shoe? And which were you thinking of?! smile

I'm putting mine toward a new pair of bike boots, so do that if you have a bike. If not, spend it on a CBT.

As you've mentioned a socket set, this little number from Halfords...

http://www.halfords.com/motoring/garage-equipment/...

Leaves you £20 to spend on a filthy takeaway to take some pictures of and post on the filthy takeaway thread on the Food and Drink forum.

It is good. Rather than just say, "I'd rather buy something with the £80", it covers off:

- Insulting newish member;

- Indication of a high salary;

- Indication of multiple saving plans; and

- Implication of being a long term member.

It's a PH full house!

My suggestion is you should chip in some more cash and get one of these. One of the best things I've ever bought.

This one comes built up. Can get it for a better price if you fancy building it up yourself.

Have a search for Piloti driving shoes to give you an idea smile can be worn casually as well as for driving.
