Hi There.

Can anyone recommend me a good battery jump starter to keep in my boot, just in case.

Would be for a VW T5 1900 Diesel if needed ever, as stays outside. Also for a Vauxhall VXR8, 6.2 Litre V8, once again, if needed.

Regards

My experience of them is you need to keep them plugged in and charged, no good in the boot.

I've had one of these for years. It starts cars and vans up to 2.5L.
Useful back up power supply, pump, torch etc.
Maybe you'd get a bigger spec one for larger engines.
Charge it up every few months.
Indispensable I'd say.

I bought a cheap 14 day programmable timer so it charges every couple of weeks if I dont use it. I wasnt sure if the battery would get fubar'd by being left charging all the time.

I'd be inclined to go for the new Li-on packs, tiny things that will start most cars with ease. They are so small they double up as travel power packs for laptops & phones.

Not a lot bigger than an 80's mobile phone!

We have one of these http://sealey.co.uk/PLPageBuilder.asp?gotonode=Vie...

It will bring a 7.5litre tractor engine back from the dead.
