Why just why...

Manufactures smoked or clear lens as standard equipment are fine no problem and tend to look good, but why in gods name do people make them virtually black with heavy tint film and sometimes bulbs hardly visible.

Pictures of any gross ones would be good for demonstrating.

Why indeed; I followed a TT with blacked out rear lights on the A1 in the rain. I couldn't see any rear lights or brake lights when he slowed. I can only assume the lenses were changed at MOT time and switched back again afterwards.

I saw a police programme once where they pulled the driver of a Mondeo who had wrapped his rear lights with tights to darken them. To we share our roads with these people...

It does me in with disbelief when they do it to quite new machinery and prestige marques like beemers and mercs. Twinkly lights on the front I can half understand but I fail to see how black tail lights improves things.

You think tinted rear lights are bad?

I've seen a number of cars with tinted HEADLIGHTS !!!!!. They vary from a slight tint to full on 'black' headlights. God only knows what driving with them is like.

Surely they can't be legal but as the majority of what I've seen are foreign registered, I guess they never go near a British MOT station.

What about number plate lights that are so bright you can't even read the plate.
