Been browsing the classifieds on here heavily for a couple of weeks and I find that so many adverts are of cars that are actually sold and the seller is in fact wanting to buy a car. Is this normal?

If it is like the housing trade possibly dealers wanting to appear to have more stock than they actually do after Christmas, or trying to coax people gauging the value of their car to sell it to them

Yeah, it's annoying when viewing a page of cars to find that only a couple on the page are actually for sale!

I have been looking at 993s recently and every other advert seems to be for an unavailable/sold/wanted car

There's a similar thread in the website feedback section that first raised this in September '14 - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... - not a great deal seems to have been done since it was first raised as some sections are still flooded by the same dealer / trader.

they've paid for the add, so instead of taking it down they replace it with a wanted add, i believe you can report them and get them removed, but no one takes the time
i do all the time on auto trader when i see the adds which are just the deposit price, report them as misleading, but it rarely seems to help, the same dealers seem to still be doing it, no idea if they get there adds taken down and they put them back, or if i just get ignored
