Zenos E10 S revealed

Second Autosport show for Zenos sees its second car launched, the 250hp E10 S [Updated with more pics]

Since our last story on the turbocharged Zenos, we've had the all important drive of the standard E10 in prototype form. It was a damn good first show in fact, heightening anticipation further for the 250hp E10 S.

Today Zenos has used the Autosport show once more to launch its latest product. A quick recap of the essential stats for the S as they've changed slightly since September: 250hp and 295lb ft, sub four seconds to 60, 135mph all out and £29,995. For another £4K a Track Pack brings a six-speed gearbox, limited-slip diff, composite seats with four-point harnesses, quick release wheel and adjustable platform dampers.

You may have noticed too this is the first Zenos with a windscreen. It's heated and everything, giving the Zenos a little more in terms of everyday usability. Furthermore, the 'Soarin' Blue' colour seen here is new, on display with six additional premium colours that can be optioned on an E10.

Production of the E10 and E10 S has now begun with the first customer cars arriving soon. And what next for Zenos? Project E11 is a two-door, two-seat roadster due next year and E12 is a two-door GT coupe coming in 2018. Exciting times ahead in Wymondham!

Caterham, you say. There's always competition.

If you raised the height of the windscreen by an inch and added a canopy or hard top which then covered the roll bars stretching to the rear I think it would like quite good. Maybe a little heavy on the back tho.

I love the rear 3/4 view of this but I'm not sure that the two tone effect does much for the looks - hard to day from a photo though!

Given what a focused remit it has, why would anyone buy one of these without the track pack? It just looks like they have made some of the fundamental parts that a trackcar should have into options to keep the headline price down. (A bit like a kitcar manufacturer advertising kits at a price that doesn't include an engine!)

Not seen pics yet, but yes - more of a get you home type affair than a roof I gather.

very droll but does not answer the question.

I am not sure this will have any impact.

E10S must have circa twice the torque of the E10, 295 lb ft for 725kg, seems almost excessive!

I'm wary of posting after last time... but the rear 3/4 view is finally one that you can look at I suppose (Is it me or have they tidied up the panel gaps and defuser shaped piece?

Curious what a solid one colour Zenos would look like, I suspect part of the difficult appearance is down to the two colour scheme.

Fantastic!

Still not sure if this would replace the 7 as a tourer, but I'm watching these with a lot of interest!

Yes, that's what I thought. Part of me fears it could make the car... tricky to manage.

I was told they planned to do exactly that. Apparently it's for engineering reasons, not aesthetic.

I am surprised, this turned out to be much better than what I expected.

Looks much nicer than the usual in this kind of small manufacturer kit cars/part bin specials and the spec sheet sounds quite nice. At 30k this is a serious contender for the lotus elise, isn't it?

I wish them luck. Would love to try one.

The 211 maybe. With no doors and no proper roof it's not really an Elise competitor.

Looking at that interior shot, the gearstick sticks out like a sore thumb.

Looks like something out of a 1990 Ford Escort.

Every time I see something like this - with a front end clearly designed for various aero reasons - it saddens me to see that stupid great plank of a UK number plate ruining it. I think the first thing I would be doing is puling that off and sticking one flat on the front splitter like I've seen on Ferrari Enzos and F40s.

The 458 suffers the same thing - ironing board number plate syndrome.
