Have you approached the dealer?

Lexus customer service is top notch. I'd be very sprised if you leave unhappy.

Why would you do that?

Sorry to hear of your issues. That sort of thing is always frustrating.

In truth the only option open to you is a visit to the dealership and a calm but firm chat with someone in charge. Emphasis on calm.

I used the phone as a torch to check my car in the dark.

I've been trying to contact the person who dropped the car off I have taken photographs and am going to send off a email showing the damage followed with a phone call in the morning.
Is there anything else I need to do?

Thank you for the replies.

I think what he means is why did you wait until after you left before checking ?

I think he's wondering (as was I!) why you suddenly decided to check the car over after sending the guy on his way!

Anyway, as above, contact the dealership. Lexus prize themselves on good service so I'm surprised it came back like that at all, I'm sure they'd sort it on a very new purchase.

Did the OP suspect a problem?

Devils advocate...

But that's a lot of damage over several panels to be sustained during one visit. One, maybe two car parks dings and scuffs but that seems rather extensive. Also, the car is filthy... was that just as it was delivered back? Seems very poor even by dealer valet standards.

For some reason my gut feeling is something doesn't add up.

That looks terrible! Was it perfect before? Lexus are apparently spot on for customer service so get in the horn first thing. Hopefully they'll see you right.

For a car that was detailed last week, or 2 weeks ago (which is it?) it's pretty manky.

And why would you go give it a full checkover afterwards. What prompted that?

Something fishy scratchchin

Can you prove you did not do that after the was delivered?

Very odd

I can't see any franchised dealer, let alone Lexus, returning a car in that condition. I'm shocked.

Unfortunately you are in an awkward situation, you can't prove it was done by them. Their stance can be that it was perfect when it left and that you have damaged it and are now trying to blame them to get it done free.

I'm not saying that is the case here, but it wouldn't be the first time it has happened and it won't be the last!

You are really at the mercy of the dealership/Lexus here if they are willing to take it on the chin and fix it.

I've had customers come back after 6 months claiming 'it was like that when I bought it' rolleyes
