Around 1430 today, I parked in a very busy car park, 30 seconds after parking, another car pulled up behind me, with a woman driving, and a guy got out the passenger side, he was shouting at me, he then opened my door, and punched me twice.

However, he was in his 60's, and built like a bean pole, so did no damage.

Apparently, they had seen the space, but drove past it, went round the car park, and then wanted to park in it, but I had got there in the time it took them to drive round, they claimed it was there space, as they "saw it first".

I did call the police though, they turned up, I gave a statement.

The police called back an hour ago, despite me giving a statement saying she was driving, as well as a witness, and CCTV evidence, she is denying driving.

The reason, she has no licence, the police now want a further statement, to use in court, against her.

I know, cool stary bra, you only have my side etc..., but I have nothing to hide, or gain by lying.

No condescending 'cool stary bra' comment from me. Stories like this never fail to amaze me - the conduct of that old chap is beyond any level of comprehension!

People are always amazed when it is someone who is 60 or 70 that is the antagonist.

But these are the people who were mods, and rockers in the 60's, and punks in the 70's.

Should we really be shocked that some still behave the same way, later in life?

I got punched in a road rage incident about 3 years ago. Except he was a huge lad and managed to knock one of my front teeth loose. Thank god for automatic door locking or it would have probably been a lot worse, if he had gotten me out of the car. He actually ripped the door handle off the car, in the process of trying to get my door open.

I remembered his plate and in the end he got 6 months inside, and had to pay me £600 in compensation.

The reason for the road rage? I changed lanes in front of him and made an honest mistake and didn't see him. He overtook me, swerved towards me, forcing me into the kerb and then ran over and punched me through my half open window.

The future Mrs Slow had to go to court as a prosecution witness in the trial of a 60 something year old man who killed a gentleman with a single punch in the fight over a car parking space. She was working on the checkout of the supermarket in question and saw the whole thing.

It genuinely amazes me how humans will fight and get pissy over something so inconsequential. Glad to hear he did no damage OP, and I hope he and his partner feel the full force of the law. Pond life at its best...

I
Do give the extra statement as there are far too many people who think the law doesn't apply to them and deserve to be punished when they get caught out.

For some reason I expected the 'nice ending' to involve doggy style on the back seat. Never mind.

It's worth having something to hand in your car that you can use in self defence but not get prosecuted for having in your possession. An aerosol can, especially combined with a cigarette lighter, would stop someone in his tracks.
