Does anyone know of a good place to get the seats retrimmed in leather in or around London/Hertfordshire? Full trim including door cards, seats everything! Car in question is my lovely 08` audi a3 sportback! Thanks guys!

Search "Dave the Trimmer" (if I remember correctly he is in Cranfield), alternatively Allon White sports cars have a great trim shop.

Dave the Trimmer I have no experience of his work apart from seeing some of the Elises he's done, which look great.

That will cost a fortune! Sorry I can't recommend anybody but may I ask why you are doing it? I would imagine it would be a lot cheaper to buy a second hand interior.

Matt.

That makes sense! I didn't know if it was a simple 'have cloth want leather' change, or a 'my leather is worn' type request.

Surely this must be getting on for a two grand job if you want 'leather' not a cheap facsimile?

When I worked @ a main dealer we used these guys.

http://www.trimtechnik.net/leather/seats/audi-leat...

They'll come and fit on site, nice guys to deal with and we never had any problems with the fit and finish.

More of you want it done properly. Most trimmers seem totally unable to tailer the cut to actually fit the seats and so the majority of retrims you see have immensely annoying ripples, stretches and loose sections.

I look at the pictures PHers post up of their expensive retrims on here and much of the time they are total rubbish.

Do most trimmers just download patterns or use the original but stretched material as a pattern? Whatever they do, most are like the cheap bespoke tailors who cannot cut and got a shoulder properly.

In London I found one company who used a trimmer who actually cut and fit to the the seat and whose stitching was perfect and that was at Auto Audio

You will find that most people have their interiors retrimmed because they are warn and looking tired.
Only the wives of famous footballers have them retrimmed for uniqueness (AKA pink pokadots and orange stripes)

If the car has leather already, have you considered a furniture clinic kit?

I refreshed my TVR seats and steering wheel, they came up a treat. You can also do some weird and wonderful things with different colours if that's your thing.

PS - I used Dave the Trimmer for a new roof and carpets and was very impressed.

Good luck.

He's not near London, quite the opposite in fact, but I took my GT-Four to Simon at Hide 'n' Seat Auto Interiors (up near Durham) and he did a cracking job for a very competitive price.

Two grand if it's done on the cheap.

Contact B-Trim on the A 10 near Enfield EN3 4TY Their work is outstanding on any vehicle and they really know their hides and what can and cannot be done.

Thanks for posting this, I've been on the hunt, on and off, for somewhere to do a bit of a repair/restoration job on my Rovers leather in the Durham area (drivers bolster is in desperate need and the rest could do with a bit of a refresh).

Looks really good, how much did he charge for that if you don't mind me asking?
