Buy M3 E46 or keep 350z and tune it up

Hey all

So I currently 2004 350z with 101k miles on it and have had it for just under 2 years.

Problem is I find it a little slow... nothing wrong with the car, just I had hoped it would have felt quicker.
I love the way it looks but the it has always felt relatively sluggish.

Now I've always wanted an M3 e46 - and am toying with the idea of selling 350z.
However M3's cost significantly more for a decent one 7-8k is roughly my budget.

I know I could sell my 350z for 4.5k. Question is what does everyone think would be more fun - a tuned up 350z where I spend 3-4k on, or a no mods m3?

PS the 350z may need a clutch change soon.
I also generally believe manufacturers know best and people shouldn't try make the car better - but in the 350z case - it seems the manufacturer could've stuck more power into it bog standard.

Opinions and thoughts please

This could definitely be an option! I find myself in love with the shape and sound of 350z's, but just imagine another hundred or so horsepower

yeh thats pretty cool - 3.5k i suppose is in budget but I wanted to spend some of that cash on so rota grid 19s and getting new lightweight clutch as it's on it's way out I think. so would be more like 2-2.5k I could be spending on tuning
