Buying a car/van in Northern Ireland

I'm buying a VW Transporter from Belfast on Saturday, the van is on Northern Irish plates, how do I stand with paperwork?

Is it a case of just filling out the V5 as normal and sending it off to DVLA?

Yep. They'll change it to an age-related mainland plate for free if you want.

Hopefully sell my old T5 this week and pick the new one up on Saturday all going well
