Is it aftermarket or original equipment?
I had an aftermarket one on a Senator years back (the plug in type) what a PITA it was but it took a good auto electrician a fair few hours to cut it out of the system and make it all good.
If it's Original Equipment and linked to the ECU (coded) I reckon that might require some re-programmning

It has a code thing, not sure if it's original. I want it removed/disabled because it keeps malfunctioning and it's annoying the hell out of me!
I don't know enough about LR's to comment on if original or not - key pad type imobilisers to me sound Aftermarket but like I said don't know enoughDoes it look like any of these

Come on, someone must know how I shut the bloody thing up! As for pics........I don't even know where it is, much less how I'd get any photos.
Need some more details..I'm assuming from the above that the alarm is sounding - can you get access in to the car? Do you have the ignition key?
What Land Rover is it?
BTW what do you mean that you don't even know where it is?

Is it an early freelander petrol?
If so it might be the K series one built into the ECU
If it has a seperate thingy attached to the key ring it will be an aftermarket one which a competent auto electrician should be able to remove and disable it with a hammer
