Does anybody have an effective way of minimising the smell left from smoking in the car?

Smoking with the windows down and not using the ash tray.

Looking for an answer that doesn't contain the term "stop smoking" or "stop smoking in your car"

And it's worth noting that who ever you're trying to hide your smoking from, they do actually already know.

I have nobody to hide the fact I smoke from, I just want my car to smell as nice as it possibly can whilst still enjoying the pleasure that is smoking and driving.

You do realise that you want your car to stay smelling good whilst you probably smell like an ashtray?

To stop my car smelling of fag smoke, I've found that putting two large wet and muddy dogs in it hides it very successfully!

I guarantee you that the only way to stop your car smelling of smoke really is to not smoke in it. Ever trick other smokers will tell you is a waste of time. Most none smokers can tell when a smoker had been in their car or house, despite not smoking in it.

Sorry as it won't be what you want to hear.

Yup. Using ashtrays a stict no. Same with car lighters.

The key is that you want the smoke to be drawn out and not linger. Opening the window too far will cause buffeting that swirls the smoke through the car. What you have to do is open the window around 2-4 inches and find the point at which smoke gets drawn out strongly. This window level will change a little depending on heater fan speed for obvious reasons.

When not smoking, leave the cigarette as close to the window and aim your exhale to the window also.

At the end of the day there is no way to hide the smell if the objective is that another user of the car won't know. Also, if sproggs are using the car it's smarter to get an e cigarette. But if it's just about ensuring the car doesn't smell when you come to sell it then the above combined with vacine the fabrics every so often will work fine. Plus changing the air filters.

The smoke (most of which you can't see) will impregnate everything, not just the fabric, think the steering wheel, the dashboard, the door rubbers.....everything that is even slightly porous. Any none smokers will know when a car has been owned by a smoker.
