I hope some of you PHers can offer some advice.

2 months ago I changed car and whilst it's a perfect car for someone, it does nothing for me at all. In fact, I really don't like it at all and want to get rid. I know that I'm going to take a bit of belt to the bank account from depreciation but that's something I'm prepared to do to get something that I find a better car for me.

If I do get rid, I am also going to use it to get off the PCP merry-go-round (if possible). To afford that means looking at cars in the £10-£12K bracket with the car I have currently valued at about £15K p/ex or slightly less at WBAC.

The questions are:

1 - Are dealers prepared to p/ex a car for one cheaper + a bit of cash back (I know I'll get bottom value for the car if they do).
2 - I can't pay the current finance off until I do the p/ex. Do dealers take a car with outstanding finance on it?

Cheers

yes and yes to answer your questions.

If there is profit in a deal a dealer will let you part exchange a ferrari for a fiat.

They will pay the finance off for you also so thats not a roblem.

Likewise you may want to try selling your car privately as some people wont mind you paying off the finance with their money if you do it together and they can validate you have done it.

It will put some off but until you try you don't know.

If there's profit for the dealer and you have a car they want, why wouldn't they?

Judging by his current fleet comments lol an xf diesel
Bought for £21,000 in November 2014 at 40,000 miles.

Dull. Thirsty. Too big.

To think I sold my E class coupe to by one of these in preference to getting a 911. Sometimes I hate myself.

In contrast to most replies, ive found (at a lower price level than this admittedly) that they aren't always that keen (one wanted to part ex my car for the value i wanted but wanted to increase the price of vehicle i would potentially be buying!). Obviously several thousand pounds either way is significantly more than several hundred for example.
