Hi all.

Had a faithful gas-less MIG for a few years now and it hasn't been used for a couple of years.
Went to fire it up for some welding on my bag of ste Discovery and couldn't get a tune out of it.
It's a Clarke (Don't laugh!) MIG 90EN.
Checked the large fuse inside for continuity and it is fine.
Any help with the fault diagnosis greatly appreciated smile

Thanks in advance, Stuart.

Technical Arc in York would probably be able to fix it, however its probably cheaper to buy a new one....

Probably a break in something inside, you just need to work out what it is and weld it up.... oh!!

There's your problem. Try plugging it in at the wall instead of setting fire to it.

Max, when you can you send that welder over? Looks like quite an upgrade over mine!

Are you getting anything at all?

If you can get a small spark when touching the workpiece, but no arc being struck, the it could be a faulty primary coil.

If it's completely dead, and all fuses and breakers have been checked, then it sounds more serious

it will be funny if it turns out to be an easy fix, if you have the use of a welder

Not a bean. Won't even switch on!
