Well I fancy having a little moan so I thought I'd start this thread.

While sitting in the car waiting for the girlfriend a car parked up in the space next to me, however they were extremely close to my passenger door. When I say close I mean like almost touching close. I assumed they would pull forward and try and park a bit better, as it was clearly obvious they wouldn't be able to get out.

But oh no, "BANG", he slams his driver door into my car a couple of times realises he can't open the door wide enough, at this stage I've then moved forward away from him so he could open his door. I managed to keep my mouth shut, but it's dented my car and I'm a little pissed off to be honest (yes third world problems and all that).

So what have other drivers done to annoy you so far today?

Something similar...

Popped to waitrose to grab some lunch. Purposely parked my car at the back of the car park, on end bay as far over as i can get. Nothing else is parked on the row of spaces. I can therefore run inside and grab something with a little hope some retard doesn't cause any damage to the paint.

As i'm returning across the car park I can see mine....and another car next to me. Eh?! Why out of the 10+ spaces along from me do you park right next to me. As I get closer, not only is he right next to me, his door is about 4 inches from mine and the guy inside is probably no less that 30 stone.

How on earth do you think you'll be getting out that door...would be guaranteed to hit my car. Even try to reach an arm out your door would result in your door hitting mine.

That's what I struggle to understand. The car that parked to my left had no cars on their left, yet he still managed to park close to my car.

Why didn't he park one space across for example. Me personally I'll always avoid parking next to other cars, preferably in an end space where I can park as close as possible to the end.

Me and two other cars in front pull up onto the kerb to allow an ambulance to pass, ambulance passes and the three of us all indicate to join the road but two cars have decided to follow the ambulance not allowing us to rejoin.

Selfish tts, I have it on my dashcam but cannot be arsed to post it up. Life goes on.

Get stuck behind a car going 50 mph in a 60 limit, only for them to disappear off in the distance at 35 - 40 mph when we get to a 30 limit.

Why?

Get in their cars the same time as I drive to work.

Evoque heading directly towards me whilst having her wheels straddled across both lanes, flashing at me telling me to move over with her hands. Erm, you’re on my side of the road, either wait or move to your left as you appear to have about 4 feet between you and the pavement.

Any driver who doesn’t know the size of their car and takes a stupid position on the road

Every Nissan Juke driver who drives around with 3 fecking rows of lights on including those stupid middle row ones that are as big as lights you get in a Light House.

He banged your car a couple of times and you said nothing?
You don't need to shout at him but I'd certainly have a polite chat.

Huh? I'd be looking at making a claim on his insurance to get the dent fixed.

I was looking over at him, all the while thinking he's not going to try and open the door is he, and I was in shock when he had banged the door against my car.

My first reaction was to just move the car out of the way, as I got the impression he was going to keep banging the door to see if it opened up any wider for him to get out. I could have imagined him spending a day trying to get a square peg through a round hole and not understanding why it doesn't fit.

Ultimately had I said anything to him it wouldn't have changed the damage. Where I went wrong, was I should have rolled the window down, or beeped the horn to get his attention before he tried opening the door. But as I said I assumed he'd adjust the car rather than trying to open the door.

Unfortunately due to a dodgy claim history (had a few fault claims, paint stripper, hit and run etc) that I want to avoid any claims at all even if they're non fault.

I'm just going to stomach it and get some quotes on repairs. It's bugging me, but when I said to the girlfriend her reaction was "it's only a car, stop getting worked up". Sadly I think that's the majority of peoples views on cars.

I'd reckon people like me that park miles away are a minority, normally people look for the closest space to the shop entrance.

Could have avoided going through insurance / claiming though. Just try get some cash out the guy there on the spot

Is exactly why I try and park far from the shops etc. So many people just give zero attention when getting out the car. I just resort to double parking most of the time now...don't fancy picking up a bill for damage someone else has caused.

Young asian bloke sitting right on my rear bumper in slow moving traffic in his "S5 cabriolet init bruv". We aren't going anywhere quicker with you doing that but we are more likely to have an accident if you look down at your phone when one of your galdem texts you.

I was freeing my car from the frozen snow (pain in the arse on a 350Z cab) and the neighbour comes out and get in her Focus, makes no attempt to clear the windows, starts the car and drives off with the windscreen wipers scraping across the frost/ice, the windscreen was more or less opaque, all the other windows were untouched also.

Do they drive blind for the first few minutes ? I personally do not possess X Ray vision.

Can't believe you sat and watched someone dent your own door...

Even if I was not making a claim I would have still got out the car and told the driver what I thought of them!

I drove 18 miles to take a photo of a house in the middle of nowhere and caught up a car just as I arrived, which parked in front of it.

Crash.

(no-one was seriously injured)

A1(M) northbound, before stevenage, at the bit that goes from 3 lanes into 2.

Every morning people cant work out how to do this properly, and so usually traffic comes to a crawl or a standstill. People try and squeeze in at the last moment, no-one leaves a gap, some people activly close a gap so on so forth. I'm sure many of you have seen such behaviour at similar merge-in-turn points.

Well this morning it ended in tears, and I got caught in the resulting traffic jam which, instead of being at work 10 minutes later from that point, it was 50 minutes.
