That might need slightly more than a bit of T-cut to buff out...

He was doing around 200mph, that is a serious risk if it goes wrong, and unfortunately it did for him. I think the issue is some people assume as they are in cars designed to drive fast that chances of anything going wrong are slim, and they build a false sense of confidence.

I'd have liked the camera to be pointing on the road as it was at the start to see what happened, as I'm not sure how he lost control. Did he just clip the central reservation?

Just watched the video again, at around 1min28seconds it looks like he's hit a dip or bump in the road, which at 200mph as caused the car to lose balance and he's lost control.

HAd he been going slower he'd have been ok. Now I'm not one of these drivers that is "Speed kills", I do exceed the limits at times but that speed is nuts.

Sounds like he did just clip it... Report on the above link says he 'hit the guardrail on the inside, only to bounce off to the other, tearing it apart before ending up in the ditch'.

That pile of car at the end is totally unrecognisable! How they have survived THAT beyond me.

Cross wind or the driver looking at the speedometer? At that speed, blinking is hazardous.

Good point. I wonder if it was ejected from the car at some point?

It has been on fire though, so most of the carbon fibre(?) shell will have burnt away.

It looks like he hit the bumps and panicked with some steering input that threw him into the central reservation.

Bumps don't send you out of control when you're travelling in a straight line.

.
Yes, meaning he lost control which is what I said.

I read it as though the bumps sent him out of control, not steering input.
