VW contract hire hand back costs?

Hi All -
Just wondering if anyone has had experience of the costs/penalties of contract hire settlement?
I assume that (worst case) it'll be the entirety of the remaining lease payments?
Will be at 18 months into a 24 month contract.
Additional factor (not sure whether this is considered?) is that we've been running at a c. 7000 miles per year on an up to 10k contract.
Any real world experience most welcome!
