Is this motorbike still registered?
Discussion
Evening all,
An old boy I know has posted on Facebook, a photo of himself aged about 5, sat on a motorbike petrol tank, with his dad on the seat. (Can't seem to post the photo on here).
The badge looks like it says 'Vincent' but the style is more like Sunbeam i.e. flat with a circle in the middle/slightly above, not curved like Vincent. It's very out of focus.
Can anyone tell me if the bike is still registered?
The reg is ANV 177.
Thanks in advance.
Craig.

Just to put some flesh on the bones, a Facebook post from my mate just now:
"The 500cc single cylinder Sunbeam. ANV 177 - the number is burnt into my memory - was my Dad's. He bought it off Brian ****, a farmers son who lived over the road. He had it when he was in the RAF during the fisticuffs. I actually learned to ride it when I was about 12. Very heavy, Took a lot of starting for a 12 year old. Used to ride it through the woods and fields where we lived. Dad bought it in 1949 and also bought a sidecar which wasn't designed to couple to the 'bike but he did it. Then in the summer of '49 we toured all around Scotland with a tent and a primus stove. Dad driving, sister Josie (13) on the pillion and me and Mam in the (single seater) sidecar. Tent and everything else packed between the 'car and 'bike. When we got to Dumfries the cork clutch burnt out. Amazingly there was a shop just up the road where Dad was able to purchase replacement cork segments and he repaired it on the side of the road. On the return journey we got to about 5 miles from home when the spokes in the back wheel started to snap. Eventually it was so bad that sister Josie had to sit on the front of the sidecar to try to counterbalance the load on the back wheel. We made it home with less than half the spokes intact. I sold it to a chap I worked with, Maurice **** (of **** lemonade family) for £5 in around 1970. Don't know what happened to it after that but Maurice died at an early age just a few years later."
Thought it may be of interest.
