Depends entirely where you live.

It's not gridlocked everywhere.

I live/work in Sweden. I have regular trips back to the UK. I agree. Driving over there is st.
I'm of course comparing it to the almost traffic free roads in the middle-of-nowhere, where I live. But you can't even go to the fking supermarket at 9 on Sun morning without a ttting queue !

Absolutely. I usually travel about an hour each way to work on a mix of A and B roads but rarely run into traffic. I normally adjust when I work to miss any congestion.

Matt.

Lived there early 90's M8. Don't hold out much hope for your driving experiences.

Morning rush hour up here. You may be in the wrong part of the UK?

Possible solutions (none of which may be practicable or even desirable)..
1. Move to the country
2. Buy a big, wafty barge - sit in the traffic in comfort and meditate
3. Get yerself a motorcycle

All three, if you can - sorted.

It's taken years of dedication to the cause, but our road system is, by and large, fked.

Still, could be worse, it's quicker and more reliable than taking the train.

Until they've finished the trams you'll be fked.
Unless the A453 takes longer, in which case you'll still be fked.
Then they'll start on HS2, and you'll be fked again.
TBH the bits in the middle won't be great either.

Oh, and Long Eaton is fked all the time because Prescott decided that massive supermarkets should be in the middle of already poorly road provisioned town centres.

Still, Derbyshire doesn't take too long to get to if you fancy a drive.

Unless the M1's fked.....
