Perhaps someone was a bit too honest about the name "Adam" so Vauxhall has dug up the name Viva. It's not Fiat 500/Mini/Beetle retro so doesn't look like the one your friends mum took you to school in when you ere doing O-levels.

It was bitterly disappointed when I saw the name and then saw the pics, nothing like a Viva I remember when I was a kid, not enough rust for a start.

It looks like a year 2000 Yaris with a naff front end grafted on - that chrome 'highlight' in the front grille looks like a steers horns, shoulda called it the 'Texan'.

Not a fan.

It's a replacement for the Agila, Vauxhall's equivalent of the Suzuki Wagon R.

wtf is that? it looks the same size as a mariva, but with standard doors and a corsa with a high roof life? whats it target rival, surely the ford B max is aimed at the mariva.

I'm quite surprised they haven't turned out a half-decent car at least by accident these past few years.

It gets worse than Adam. This is the Opel Karl. Seriously...

Hmm I think it looks okay from the side actually:

Aside from the wheels, which are clearly at least two inches too large for this car.

Original Viva was box shaped, like a MK2 Cortina.

I had one in blue clap as my first proper car.

Rusty inner sills leaked water and I had to put a new gearbox in (my boss at the time gave me the day off work to it)

Wouldn't that be quite cool though if they did a tiny 3 box 2 door saloon ala the original Viva?
