Do the prices differ? If anyone out there has a CAP BOOK can you give me the trade price for a 2004/04 Porsche Cayenne 3.2 V6 with tip box & 87000 miles, not many extras apart from paint & 20" turbo alloys.
Thanks

When the dealer is buying it from you nobody wants the v6, youll really streggle to sell it, its an unloved model, thev8 is nearly as economical and petrol prices are down so he'll really struggle to shift it but he will do you a favour and take it off your hands for 4k.
Then when its on his forecourt next week at 8k itll be the mist reliable version thats almost as quick as the v8 but much better on fuel and handles better with less weight on the nose.

Sound about right?

Look at it this way: WBAC (owned by BCA) will almost certainly send the car to auction where it will be poured over by dealers with the CAP price.

If it is a nice one, they will aim to pay CAP Clean - if WBAC/BCA pay you CAP Clean for it then they're not going to have any margin in it.

Only if WBAC reckon the car is something special and would fetch "over book" at auction are they likely to offer CAP or above. Otherwise, there is nothing in it for them.

I'd guess the CAP price is somewhere around 5750 assuming it is a 2004-2006 model. I'd guess most dealer would value it 5000-5400 as a PX assuming it is clean before any "over allowance".

whoever ends up "retailing" that car is going to want/need a good enough margin to cover refurb and potential comebacks that could occur. That's before taking into account the type of buyer that its going to attract. I bought a non running 55 plate one owner with 100k for £1000 last year, turned out to be water damage to a wire under the carpet. the idea of retailing it even with the kind of margin I could have had didn't appeal, so I traded it on as it was for a quick buck. unless its a known good one, there are easier ways of turning a profit....I suspect private sale is going to be the way to get most out of it...... they will soon be the council estates next silver blinged ML type vehicle.....
