Hi

This is my first post, but I've been lurking for a while.

I'm looking to change my C4 Picasso for something more reliable and the Zafira seems to be at the top of my list. Would love an S-Max but I'm a bit priced out for age/budget.

Any advice?

Thanks!

My parents have had their 2000 Zafira 1.8 Auto for a while now
And its actually been very reliable, even today after almost 15 years and 100k+ miles, everything still works on it (Apart from the A/C)
The 1.8 Auto petrol is quite thirsty, it averages around 28mpg which is quite low, but im guessing the newer models will be better
The design of the car is intuitive and driving the Zafira doesn't feel like a big car - parking is quite easy and with the auto-box, its very smooth
Overall a good car smile

There's loads of sub 10k SMAX for sale on autotrader.

We got a 60k mile fsh 2007 galaxy last year for 8k and it's been great.

I bought a brand new 1.6 Zafira with 100,000 mile warranty, (8 years for me) for £10495 eighteen months ago WITH £500 worth of petrol vouchers.

It has been flawless, and will carry an immense amount of stuff, will convert to 7 seats......go for it.

No doubt some will come on and say "Yes, but it's a st Vauxhall"......take no notice.......internet warriors on school holidays...

Had two Zafira's and absolutely nothing wrong with them.

Petrol is thirsty and you will need to replace the coil pack at some stage.

As said, you can get brand new ones of the old model quite cheap now. I don't know what engines they offer.

Dad has a 150 CDTI diesel, mainly for towing his caravan, the only issue he had was the battery failed (probably due to infrequent use). Other than that its been fine, including several trips over to Brittany with the caravan.

Thanks for the replies so far.

I have seen a 2011 Zafira 1.7ctdi ecoFlex elite 12k miles £8.700 full leather parking sensors auto wipers few more bells and whistles with this engine/trim?

All s-max in my price range are older, and with more miles?

Ruddy heck that's cheap!
Must admit I'd pay not to own that but it's a very cheap car.

They're cheap for a reason though.

If you can get a new one with the full lifetime warranty then that's more appealing I suppose.

C4 or C4 Grand?

Zafira has a bench rear seat, Zafira Tourer has individual seats.

You don't say your mileage so we don't know Petrol or Diesel. 1 year old petrol Tourers are available sub £10K.

Tell us your annual mileage and budget as it helpsyes

I thought that 1. they've stopped that lark and 2. it wasn't transferable anyway?

1.6 petrol suffers from known EGR issues, and it's prob a bit small an engine for the car anyway - I think I'd avoid that engine

It's a C4 not Grand. For the Zafira don't need individual seats.

Mileage is around 10k.

Had a Zafira hire car via work a few years ago, and it was noisy as hell on the motorway.
I can't remember what year or engine size, but I remember they had bad reviews at the time.
