Hi
I'm in a bit of a dilemma about my driving licence. I've not updated the address since I passed 24 years ago. To be honest I never owned a car until a couple of years ago so never really thought about it.
Anyway I've received a Notice of Intended Prosecution for going at 40 in a 30 zone - once I return that and get the (hopefully) fixed penalty, I understand that I need to send in my licence. If I send in my licence the address won't correspond to my current address.
I think I have 28 days to respond to the notice and then I wait for the penalty so there is plenty of time to change it with DVLA (and it's about time to get a photo licence anyway) but my question is, can I get fined £1,000 for this? They ask my addresses for the last 3 years (none of which are my old home address from when I passed).
I guess I have no choice other than to tell DVLA now (rather than send in the current licence with the fine) - but does anyone know if I would be likely to get fined for this?
Thanks
Guy

Send your license in for change of address.

Then say you can't send the fine in yet as your license is off for change of address.
