Machine polish VS paint blow over
Discussion
Assume you're having a front wing and bumper painted...
Would you opt to have the bonnet and other front wing treated with:
Which one, and why?
Would you opt to have the bonnet and other front wing treated with:
- a paint blow over to aid overall front end colour match
- a machine polish to freshen up front end, avoiding paint blending issues into doors, etc.
Which one, and why?

if need be id want it blending properly where needed , the term blow over usualy = cheapie quick paint job
Right, so even though the bonnet and other wing do not need painting, they should see *some* paint to help blending?Surely any body shop would say 'just do the bonnet as whole' as opposed to a part of it? no?
well yeah in some cases you can end up chasing it around the car , if the bonnet is badly chipped then you might want that sorting out(will cost more than a blend)and then need the other wing blending
they might get away with just blending into the door if the match is good , id also want any handles /rubber strips etc taking off and not masked

I had the front end of my BMW Z4 repainted as someone had painted the bonnet and bumper very badly previously and it was starting to flake off.
It was silver, I had the bonnet and bumper painted and half the wings, blending the new paint into the old. They did a fantastic job. I spent ages looking over it in detail, and I couldn't see any signs of mismatched paint, or different shades anywhere. I was really impressed.
