I've been thinking about buying a Volvo of some description but I do rather like the look of this big old barge.
Auction ends in an hour...

Thanks.

I've been watching that, if it was any nearer I'd already own it. If its as described its an absolute steal. I'd stick a bid of £1750 and see what happens.

Personally don't like it even slightly. Something looks wrong over the rear wheel, around the arch...

They are great, but I would look for an E320cdi, about 2-3mpg behind the 220cdi and so much nicer.

Also, consider the estate, look much cooler imho and so useful.

Be careful on rust, if it has a bubble now it will probably be rotten in 18 months.

Thanks, I did read on another thread about rust on these so I think I'll give it a swerve. I'll probably end up with a Volvo as I really do fancy a big old barge.

... but I do like how the advert reads and it's only 30 miles away.

I agree that the estates look nicer though.

I bought an old E320 V6 estate 6 years ago, I had a 335i touring at the time, a teenage daughter and a rather large Weimaraner when our second son came along, the 3 series touring just wasn't big enough to take the buggy and the dog and my run my daughter and her friend back and forth to all her dancing and acting stuff she did each night.

So I bought the E320 estate, old man green with beige interior, it was a facelift 2000 model, with 88k on it and I paid £3k for it. The idea was run it for a bit then sell it on, and it was a price where I could keep the 335i.
I fell for it big time, so much so I sold the 335i and bought another M3 as the fun car. I have had a later S211 E320cdi estate after that and then moved onto the S212 E350 estate.

I loved the S210 E320 estate, really fell for it big time. I also loved the S211 (hated the S212 E350 by the way) but the 210 was just sublime.
When they came out I didn't get them, I had two E39 5 series Tourings and didn't even consider the Merc, but I am going to buy another one shortly, just such good cars.

I live the V70 as well, but it is no E Class.

Something about the eBay name suggests they like the beach....probably not the best place for a merc of that age...
