Hi,

I have £3000 to spend on a car. I want something reasonably fun. I don't really want an old barge, I don't know much about maintenance. I would like a car that feels fairly new. Hence I have narrowed it down to the above.

I can afford about 2008, with less that 60000 on each of these cars. I know they are quite different, I have tested and like both, just looking for some more input and opinion.

My commute to work is 25 mins B-roads, a very occasional long run, like 2/3 times a year. My daughter (15) will need to get in the back.

Cheers.

Neither, I'd be playing safe with an older Golf GTI. The C2 is alright but not modern at all, my limited experience of Bravos tells me they're made out of cardboard.

I really rate the bravo, good driving good value cars, i would have one over a golf every time. The 150 bhp ones can suffer from noisey gearboxes, otherwise not heard of any issues. I have bought and sold a good few now and all have been pretty good.
