Got a VW CC on hire atm.

I quite like it, makes a wonderful family car. Naturally I've been looking n AT/PH for one now.

There are 2 options though, one for a Passat CC and one for just CC. Are they 2 different cars or am i missing something?

It was initially released as Passat CC then reverted to just CC during a facelift.

Excellent, thanks.

So essentially the same car then?

I think the Passat name was dropped around 2012

My only beef with them as a family car is the rear doors, there a odd shape and require lots of space to open fully (for children in seats ect)

Really nice cars tho, in fact its probably the only recent VAG car I'd spend my own cash on

They are very nice - my boss has one.

Only a couple of things put me off:

1. Build quality on my regular Passat is poor

2. There's a new model coming out soon; potentially late this year/early 2016.

Yes, essentially the same, they're usually well specced. I think the early cars were four seaters, the latter cars had a centre rear seat as well.

My own car is/was a ford. The build quality is simply unbelievable in this, compared to my own. hehe

Been looking at cars around 10-12k, you think the new cars will drop these by much?

They are the same car. The "Passat CC" was the prefacelift, the CC is the facelift.

Differences are lights/bumpers etc, and the CC came with more kit as standard.

Personally I think the later CC looks a much classier car, the rare occasion when a facelift improves the look of a car.

Thought as much.

The standard cars with no options seem to have plenty of spec for me. the only thing i want that isn't in every one is DAB/BT/iPod input.

I like the idea of the 4 seater with the slidy cubby hole thing.

I agree about it looking classier. However, the interior is very much the same i think, with the exception of the middle seat in the back.

What was standard on the CC over the Passat CC?

I would suspect a drop when the new one comes out, but not lemming-like.

It was more the fact that I always find a new model instantly makes the older one feel obsolete. If that doesn't bother you (and for a lot of people it doesn't) then go for it.

Im not fussed about being in the newest shape TBH. It feels modern to me, after my Fiesta, with all the toys i think id need.

I can't afford a new one anyway. hehe

You referring to the back just having two seats? Later passat cc have three belts and seats. I think they were introduced in 2010 sometime.

Indeed I am. 64 plate I'm in now has 3 rear seats.

I think I prefer the 2 seat layout though.

I'm on about the Passat CC having three seats later on. I'm not in about the CC.
I believe the CC also came with the fancy electronic differential on 170bhp diesel and 2.0 T petrol engines.

I've woken up now, I understand what you mean.

I've not really read that far into them just yet, I've only just started looking.
