BMW E60 help please?
Discussion
Good evening,
Need a bit of help please. I have the opportunity to acquire a BMW 530D SE Auto saloon (that we've taken in PX at work) for a very reasonable price. It's done 55k and is a late 2007 model.
What is there to look out for? And can anyone tell me what options it has if I give them the reg/VIN?
Any help appreciated. Thanks

Make sure every last thing is working as it should, even a trivial fault can cost a fortune to put right, £500+ for a failed sidelight is not uncommon.
A look through the various internet BMW forums will answer all your questions, like most BMWs they start to need money spending around 85,000 miles.

Typing 'e60 buying guide' into the search function brings up pages of threads.

IBS (intelligent battery sensor) goes nuts and let's the car discharge.
Swirl flaps on this engine?
If it's a touring (e61) then the tailgate wiring harnesses goes mental.
Check everything works, the bills get big, fast.
I had an e61 that stung me for £1800 maintenance in 6 months. Wasn't worth it.

Thanks, it's a saloon. All seems to work ok, worth the risk for £7.5k I thinkSwirl flaps on this engine?
