This. I saw a current one yesterday in my rear view mirror and it wasn't until it got very close that I realised it wasn't.

I would suggest a visit to Specsavers mate

Looks too narrow to be a proper R8 to my eyes. Other than that it matches the lines of the prototype quite well.

I'd go with this.

The lines just don't look right and the workshop looks nothing like what Google images throws up for Audi R8 production...mostly sparkling white floors in the factory

I'd say genuine shot taken testing or development away from base. Audi will surely have banned all phones / camera's from the production floor of their own facilities.

You would be seriously unimpressed by the state of some of the worlds top testing facilities. I don't recognise that particular one, but it looks to on par with what I'm used too working in and around.

As for the r8. I think it looks pretty smart. Need to see it in the flesh of course but it's well overdue a refresh.

Yes they do look different, however in low light and a rear view mirror I think it is easy to confuse
