Amazing work from Lambeth Council.

Parked the car then seven days later went to use it,only to find it had been removed and parking on the road suspended for repairs (no mention of who to call). Spoke to Trace (a truly useless organisation, with a very bad phone manner - Can't Trace would be more accurate...) to be told the car had been moved further down the street. Great. Having walked up and down the street (and its side streets) twice, the car clearly wasn't where it was supposed to be.

On the third call (now speaking to 101 local police), it was established that it wasn't on the same street after all - it was (obviously) dropped three quarters of a mile from my house. Even better, when I eventually find it there's a £65 ticket on the windscreen to say it was parked on a suspended street. Yes - but it wasn't suspended when I parked the car YOU SHOWER OF EGITS. Raging!!!

Has anyone else been in similar situation i.e. street wasn't suspended when I parked the car, laterally was then I ticketed?

I honestly couldnt and wouldnt put up with some of the st that London councils seem to pull, to the point where I saw someone on another thread couldnt actually park their car in their borough. I know jobs, schools, family etc can keep you in an area, but if quality of life affected to the point where your car is moved by the council and they ticket you for it, it's beyond pissed off. I guess you can only laugh otherwise you'd cry.

Agreed. I refuse to pay £300 a year to park outside the house - I only paid £500 for the car! It's a luxury (albeit a shabby one) for me, I have no real need for it other than I enjoy driving. If I hadn't paid my council tax I'd be getting letters though the door, daily calls and visits, but when its comes to them asking me to move the car (which I'd obviously have done) nothing. Not even a phone call. The street's away from my house, I've got no need to go down it other than to park the car. As with many things these days, it seems to be another big scam to milk money from us - just this time it is the council doing the scamming.

Post on Pepipoo website, they'll tell you how to overturn the ticket.

They will want you to scan the front and back of the ticket and any other paperwork you have with the ticket. You can blank out any personal details such as reg etc

Happened to me in westminster 15 years ago when i parked my scooter, locked to a metal gate with the in-built steel lock, only to find that it had disappeared the following day, with the lock having been forcefully cut off and the bike ditched half a mile away... and all because they wanted to do a practice run for some fking parade.
Wilful destruction of my property and no apology, no compo, nothing

Thanks, will do. The number of signs up shows there's no way I could have missed them and only an idiot would take the (almost guaranteed) risk of getting a ticket. Google maps proves there's no way I could have seen them unless I took a walk down the street every morning on the off chance. Appreciate the help, will keep you posted on progress.
