Hi Guys,

I'm based in West London and am looking to refurbish my tired alloy wheels. I don't need an amazing and perfect finish - It's just too much and I know they will get kerbed very quickly.

I am tempted to get Lepsons to do it but I think it'll only be a matter of months until they're in a state.

I've been recommended these guys in Birmingham: https://www.facebook.com/pages/City-Powder-Coaters...

But I'm not sure if they are actually any good, it's a little hit and miss with regards to the finish and them getting it done on time.

Having spoken to them they say they will do a same day service for £30 a wheel but I'm just unsure.

Any recommendations of companies would be most welcome, London and surrounding or anyone else that can do a quick turn around for £30 a wheel max, (tyres are already removed)!

It's usually £50 per wheel if you want it done properly. £30 is not realistic in London.

West London try the guys at aurora car wash and repairs Putney Bridge road, Sw15.

Yeah it's 50+VAT or more in London but I'm happy to travel a little if needed, don't need it completely perfect.

Needs to last at least a year.

Have you considered having a go at them yourself, its dead easy, total cost about £40 to DIY, think I will do mine but waiting until the weather gets better

Spit & Polish are great then Fit some Alloy Wheel Gators to save them from you battering them they aren't cheap but will do the job properly.

Lepsons gets my vote. They do a pick up service from various garages etc, or at least they used to.

City are fine

People just have an unrealistic expectation of what a very tatty wheel will look like when powder coated!

Find your closest branch of The Wheel Specialists; I had mine done there, £300 total for a full refurb and powdercoat. Sounds quite steep but mine were in pretty bad shape and the quality of work was fantastic

I can recommend myalloys.co.uk of Basingstoke. Took my 911 and fabia there. Prices started at £55 from what i can remember but it depends on what size and condition they are in. About 1 year on and they still look great.

Cheers for the suggestions guys.

Due to price constraints it looks like I'll probably go with City.

I may give a DIY a look over, depends if I end up doing a good job as I'm st at this stuff.

Any decent guides / manuals around?

Cheers.

Suggest you take the advice of all the people who said expect to pay £50 per wheel - good luck dealing with the Birmingham motor trade Mafia but don't come back complaining when the wheels look like sh#t after 6 months due to the cheap job.
