Returning a HP car - Advice needed.

Hello all,
Yes, me again. A lot of you may have read my thread about dealing with rude dealers..
Well things took a hefty turn for the worse since then.
It's now been 2 weeks and I contacted the finance company to let them know what was occurring. They in turn contacted the dealer and within 10 minutes, I got a phone call from him shouting + swearing at me down the phone demanding to know why I had contacted MY finance company.
Anyway - As distressing as that was, it's not over. I've now decided to return the car back to this dealer, I can't deal with the mental stress of this harassment, intimidation and abuse. A quick google of this dealers name and the negative reviews flurry in all stating the same things I have been through.
The dealer has said the following:
You can come and reject the car, take your deposit back and we will clear the finance. Apparently the money will take 3 working days to go back into my account (This sounded alarm bells in my head). He said that they will clear the finance and as soon as the deal is done, the finance is no longer my problem. FALSE. The finance company have said until the settlement is paid, the car and it's finance will remain MY liability.
I didn't raise this with the dealer on the phone as honestly, this has all put me under severe mental distress already and I am clueless. I want to give the car back now but even his "rejection policy" seems bull crap. What happens if 3 working days later I don't have my money? What happens if he doesn't clear the finance off as he says?
The reviews I have read say similar things.
