Until recently I was running a Dunlop track day tyre on my E30 M3, but as they are NLA I swapped to Toyo r888 instead. I actually run the Toyo R1R on the front and it's a combination that seems to work really well for me. Especially in the wet.
I hope to do my first track day of the year on Sunday, so will be looking to replace all 4 tyres next month. I also use the car on the road for fun, so whatever I choose needs to be street legal. So I figured I would ask what tyres people suggest and their experience of them as road and track day tyres? Should I stick with Toyo or is the latest Nangkang worth checking out?
The sizes I need are 225/40 & 245/40 x 17 and my car weighs in at around a ton.
Thanks in advance.

Be aware that a lot of track-focused tyres which are road legal this year will no longer be road legal next year. This includes R888s and many others.
On a track car I'd always strive to fit the same tyres all 'round- to do anything else is often to disguise a fundamental setup/handling problem which has a tendancy to come back and bite you in the arse one day.
