Discovery 4 prices?
Discussion
We need another 7 seater again and having owned a Disco 3 in the past are looking to get a Disco 4 this time.
With the new Discovery & Sport out soon, will this drive the older Disco 4 prices down more?
Is it also more beneficial to buy in the warmer weather rather than now for better prices or is that a myth with 4x4's?
Next nipper isn't due until Summer so theres no immediate rush but when we sold our last Disco 3 back when we had the bad winter some years ago, we got a great price for it.
Seen some nice ones in the mid to high 20k mark but is it worth hanging on for a few more months?

Unlikely, two different target markets IMO. There is a huge size difference between the two, and the Disco Sport is still a Freelander replacement. The new FF discovery is a couple years out, so don't expect much of a price drop in the near future. When the new disco does make it to market, expect residuals to drop then.
A little birdie also told me they are still selling very very well new, so the demand is there.

As said, the Disco Sport is the Freelander replacement so won't affect D4 prices, freeby 2 prices will soften though.
As for D4 the 3.0 engine is far better than the 2.7 in the D3 and from 2012 onwards it got a 8 speed gearbox which is better than the 6 speed.
What spec do you want for the D4, what was the D3 for comparison?

Ah I see what you mean about the new sport now.As for D4 the 3.0 engine is far better than the 2.7 in the D3 and from 2012 onwards it got a 8 speed gearbox which is better than the 6 speed.

The engine on the D4 is the main reason for wanting it as I've heard its far better.
D3 we used to have was an HSE so had all the bells and whistles.
Its either a D3 HSE again or a mid spec XS D4 if the price is right.

The Disco 4 is the better car. I would choose that unless you need whatever extra details a Disco 3 HSE offers. The engine on the D4 is the main reason for wanting it as I've heard its far better.
