High performance hybrid M3?

[tonyvid]

Is there a high performance hybrid version of the M3 out there or soon to be released? I was working near the Bedford airfield today and a group of very quiet and very fast BMWs were using the runway in circuits. Sometimes you could hear a very obvious engine(wow, what a fast gearchange!) but otherwise only tyre noise....

Probably just a normal BMW performance-driving day with stock F80 M3s

That was my first thought but they were just doing endless runs in straight lines up and down the runway for about 4hours. I've seen Aston performance days at Millbrook and that was a lot more broken up.
