Strange Compensation Offer
Discussion
I had an accident about 4 months ago, wasn't my fault and the claim for damage to my car was settled after the insurers resolved the fault between them.
Had a call today from someone at Aviva, I think, saying the other party had filed for physical compensation and the insurers had 'put aside a pot' to which I was entitled to half on the basis I said, over the phone, I had suffered a 'few aches and pains' since the accident.
I declined, felt it was a scam, but the chap was quite pushy. does anyone know what the deal was here, was it effectively a solicitor chasing a new claim?

The guys who provided me a loan car while mine was being mended called back 2 yrs later and asked the same question. They reckoned they could get me £6000 for aches and pains and minor inconvenience. I said no thanks, I'd rather keep everyones insurance premiums down - the bloke went right off on one and I had to hang up. C#cks.
I was offered money after someone crashed into the back of my car.
I'll be honest, I was momentarily taken aback and thought for a second. I turned it down- the worst I suffered was needing ibuprofen for a few days. I simply didn't feel right for claiming anything, entitled or not (apart from repairs to my car's rear, which was done to a high standard).
The woman who hit my car cooperated fully and was honest as the day is long.
The police were helpful.
The insurers on both sides were helpful.
I didn't claim for whiplash I didn't really have, despite her insurers pretty much offering me stuff.
Isn't it great when things just go like they really should?
Anyway... back on topic, I get a few texts once in a while. I'm sure someone sold my mobile number on. Anyway, I tell everyone to sod off and never contact me again.

I have led one on for ages before, I told her I had 3 broken ribs, a fractured vesticule and my left foot big toenail was ripped completely off. Also I now have a spasm in my left arm which means I cant drive again for fear of driving into a ditch.
She eventually cottoned on and i had to tell her i had never been involved in a crash in my life. All I heard after was a fck-my-life type sigh before she hung up.
I am now pleasant and just ask to be taken off their system. b
