Vettel in the FXX K: Time For Tea?

For FXX K's sake, just give us the engine noise! Other than that, a cool vid...

Vettel in the FXX K didn't need to be a complicated video. The car, the driver and the circuit (Fiorano) are a thrilling enough combination that it could have been just an onboard really. Alright, a few cameras outside too catching it flat out but this was hardly a vid that needed jazzing up.

Rather annoyingly, it has been. There's some dreadful backing music dominating much of the two minutes when it really should be the V12. Yes, we see some artfully controlled drifts and over 270km/h down the main straight but a more natural portrayal of the laps would surely have been better. A 1,000hp V12 Ferrari is not exactly a car that needs overhyping.

Friday rant over, the FXX K does look a fairly phenomenal thing. It's not so much the speed bu... alright, it is about speed but it's how the velocity is maintained round corners rather than accrued. Apices arrive and disappear in an instant, the FXX K launching from each exit stunningly fast. Unsurprisingly Seb looks to be having a jolly good time.

If there was any doubt about the move from RB to Ferrari, Vettel's opportunity to do this sort of thing with the street-car side of the business justifies it for me.

Loved how he made his own 'brap-brap' noises as he downshifts Hopefully he can do the business for the Scuderia, he certainly seems to be really enjoying being a Ferrari driver
