Long shot I guess - I have a 2010 Mazda 3 2.2 diesel turbo sport and for the life of me I can't get the seats to stay where I programmed them to be. I have the position set in 1 of the 3 seat memories - easy. But whenever I come back to the car and open the door - the seat decides to reset itself to a default position. So I always have to press the memory button for my position, and wait for the seat to go back to where I want it.

I've RTFM several times but whatever I do - reprogramme the seat with the door open/closed engine on/off - it makes no difference.

I don't suppose any Mazda 3 (or 6 I imagine) owners know the trick to keeping the damn thing still?

I have no idea, but do they need to be saved to the key, so the car can adjust to witch ever of the two (?) keys is being used? A his and hers if you will. Even if you use just key one, maybe it still had to be saved.

Really? The seat has 3 presets. Never thought it might be key dependent. I'll try the other key...

That was it! Must have been using the spare key all week. Strange, would never have thought of that. Thanks very much - saved me from going mad. smile

It's made for his and her's keys.

Neat idea I suppose - didn't seem to explain that in the manual and the Mazda salesman never mentioned it. Not telling the missus though...she can keep to her own car. smile

Do many men die of being crushed against the steering wheel of Mazda 3's then?

To Program the driver’s Seat Memory Position
1- Turn the ignition switch off.
2- Adjust seat to desired position using the slide/tilt and recline switches.
3- Push and hold the memory seat SET button until a beep is heard.
4- Within 5 seconds:
• To program a memory seat button, push and hold memory button 1 or 2 until a beep sound is heard.
• To program a key, push and hold the key unlock button until a beep sound is heard (two registered keys can be programmed)

I wish you'd written the 3's manual! smile I guess its that last step that must have been done with the salesman around without me realising that's what it was. Thanks.
