Quite an amazing thing. Read the wiki on it if you're not familiar with it - comes under second generation on the mr2 page. Nobody has known where it is for a very long time, and there really is only one.

I think we're all rather thankful for that.

Never been a fan of the styling (though the race versions have something of an F40 look about them) but... Longitudinally mounted V8. Drool!

Le Mans: SARD MC8-R
The Sard MC8-R was a modified and lengthened version of the SW20 built for GT racing by Toyota's works team SARD (Sigma Advanced Research Development). The MC8-R housed a twin-turbo version of the 4.0-liter Toyota 1UZ-FE V8 producing 600 bhp (450 kW).[26] Eligible for the GT1 category, the MC8-R lacked pace against the new generation sports cars and homologation specials such as Porsche 911 GT1, but did compete alongside a similarly modified Toyota Supra. One MC8 road car was built in order to meet homologation requirements, but its current whereabouts are unknown.
Not my favourite mk2, that goes to the Rev3 Turbos or the Rev5 BEAMs.

But then the Spider has always been on my lottery list. biggrin

Those homologation regulations were pretty lax, one road car.
