I put all three of my cars reg numbers into the tyre finder and it couldn't find any of my cars. I admit one is a Westfield (although I'd expect a decent tyre supplier on a performance car website should know even Westfield's tyre sizes!) the other two are a Passat and Mini Cooper S. When I went Into the website to search manually the Passat's tyre prices where nearly twice that of Camskills anyway....what's the point?

Evening Lordbenny,

Thanks for the feedback. The reg plate look up is run by Experian and from what I gather they have had a bit of a problem just of late. If you read my main thread (http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=23&t=1465190&mid=13859&i=240&nmt=RE%3A+PistonHeads+and+Tyre+Giant&mid=13859) you'll see a post from Thursday where I address this very problem. I have fed back to Experian and await their reply - I'll pass it on to you when I have it myself - I agree it is frustrating, especially as generally speaking it works fine (c.10k uses per day over the last two years and customer service issues related to it at sub 0.1%) so really irritating that it has just lost the plot. All I can say is please check your existing tyres to be sure until I can feedback that it is back on form.

Regards the Camskill pricing - I had a look at your car (guessing it is the 2005 130 Highline from your garage) and our site actually does return the correct OEM fitment of 195/65R16 (I tried a couple of other tyre sites BC etc with the reg BK55NDD and they all return the same size as we do) - I believe however that VW probably had optional wheels that Experian have missed. If you can let me know your size I'll have a look, but Camskill is one of the sites we benchmark against - twice per day - and we are never twice the price unless something has gone very wrong. If you could let me know the size you need I will have a look and as normal I will beat them if they are cheaper smile

Cheers

Travis

PS - Advance warning I will be running a competition on GG for a free set of tyres tomorrow, so may be worth waiting smile
