Following on from my thread about the prang on Friday, the other party has already admitted full responsibility for the accident. I have a hire car which was sorted quickly, so pleased about that, but the list of body shops their insurer has provided is limited to say the least and I don't want to use any of them to repair my car. Need to find one today if possible and want to make sure the job is done properly and thoroughly, so just wondering if anybody can recommend a good place to contact. I have seen a few people mention Sandydown in Stockbridge, but I cant find much info on them - they are quite close to me (Andover), so would be convenient. Anywhere else, not the place that sells smellies?

Cheers

Hares of Berkshire. He restores classics and does accident damage when requested. He's a bit far away from you but I would never let anyone other than him do bodywork on my cars. The guy is top notch.

As I am in Andover as well I can highly recommend Sandydown as several people I know have used them. Trouble is with insurance companies is that they want to save money like everyone else so they will try getting the repairs done at the cheapest place. Mine was repaired just before Christmas at NCR Basingstoke & they did a very good job.

Thanks for the feedback re Sandydown, I have just spoken to them to get a feel for the outfit and they were most helpful and also polite, certainly don't strike me as a back street pay n spray, think I will go with them. Not too concerned about cost as the old dear's insurer (Tesco) have actually been quite impressive so far. The incident happened on Friday evening, Tesco called me first thing Monday morning, got me a car by Saturday lunch time and have so far been really cooperative with regards to me selecting a repairer. May change when they see the quote though haha....

Once they agree for you to get it repaired there, it's down to them to haggle at the price so won't be a problem for you.
