Why has a chav not snapped my hand off?!?
Discussion
Due to getting a company car, I am selling my 15 year old 1.6 GTi.
It is in great nick, lots of service history and receipts etc as well as MOT'd in December.
All I have had are the usual "how low will you go mate" texts and last night had someone asking me about every service interval and MOT certificate etc etc
Seriously?!?
It is a great car, for not a lot of money but no bites whatsoever!!
What am I doing wrong?? It is the lowest priced car of its kind on fleabay and had next to no interest.
Is it priced too low?! I just want rid of it as I want my drive back. I would have thought some little chav would have snapped my hand off already.
Sigh....
I suppose I will have to just put it on as an auction instead of a buy it now or best offer type listing.

There's your problem.
I suppose I will have to just put it on as an auction instead of a buy it now.I bet if you put it on as an auction with a higher starting price than the B.I.N., someone will go for it - people like to think they're either getting a bargain (haggling down) or winning (beating another bidder or getting it for the starting price), but very rarely prepared to pay the "sticker price" for a car.

Sounds to me like the person asking about service history & MOT was interested?

Yet another email asking me "whats the lowest you'll take"..... Do they really believe that this is the best way of negotiating?
I have a standard response now.... "Why not come and look at the car and we can discuss there and then"
This is becoming tiresome

Yep, a 7 day auction with a 99p start will get it gone.
Make sure you arrange for the auction to end about 8.00pm on a Sunday evening - when most people will be at home before work on Monday.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
