Wrong way up a one way ?

We have a one way road behind our house, twice in the last two days I have seen people drive the wrong way up it, what is the law with that ?

Yesterday it was a group of young girls in a car, she nearly caused a crash trying to get out and almost collected a cyclist who wasn't expecting her, today it was a bloke in a van.

It really annoys me for some reason ! might be as I was coming the correct way on my bike and came face to face with a woman in a Fiat Panda, the only reason I didnt go over her bonnet as I rounded the corner as I make no assumptions about having the right of way.

Perhaps the sign is obscured or it isn't noted on sat navs?

I live directly opposite one, everyday I see a car come down it.
